Last week, the Bigfoot team swapped the office for the beautiful Hunter Valley for our annual team retreat, a chance to step away from the day-to-day, think strategically and invest in what makes us better.
While it can be difficult to press pause during a busy year, it's something we genuinely value. These sessions give us the opportunity to reflect on where we've been, challenge ourselves on where we can improve, and make sure we're continuing to evolve alongside the charities we work with.
Over the two days, we covered a wide range of topics designed to strengthen both our team and the work we deliver for our clients.

Celebrating the wins (and learning from the challenges)
We kicked things off by reflecting on the past year, celebrating the milestones we've achieved together and recognising the incredible work delivered across our campaigns. Just as importantly, we had open conversations about the challenges we've faced, where our processes can improve, and what we want to do differently moving forward.
Creating space for honest conversations like these helps us continue delivering bigger impact through better digital.
Looking Ahead
We reviewed our business goals, assessed our progress and explored new opportunities for the year ahead. As our clients' needs continue to evolve, so too does our thinking around how we can provide more value, deliver stronger results and stay ahead of changes across digital fundraising.
Sharing knowledge across the team
One of the biggest highlights of the retreat was hearing from team members who shared their expertise across a range of topics.
Across the sessions, we explored:
Learnings from the recent tax appeal season and key campaign insights.
The rapidly changing world of AI search and SEO.
Opportunities to improve our internal processes and ways of working.
Business development, LinkedIn strategy and content planning.
Better reporting, benchmarking and using data to drive stronger decisions.
Collaborative workshop to explore engagement channels like Messenger and how that can be used to solve real client challenges.
Every person brought a different perspective, experience and idea to the table, reminding us that some of our best thinking comes from learning from one another.

What we're excited about
We left the retreat feeling energised.
Not because we have all the answers, but because we have a clear direction for where we're heading and plenty of exciting ideas we're looking forward to bringing to life.
From refining the way we work, to embracing new technology, strengthening our reporting and continuing to invest in strategic thinking, we're committed to continuously improving every part of what we do. Ultimately, these retreats aren't just about Bigfoot… they're about delivering better outcomes for the incredible charities we partner with.
A huge thank you to the team for bringing thoughtful ideas, honest conversations and a genuine willingness to keep learning. And also a massive thank you to our lovely clients who trust us every day to help grow their digital fundraising.
We can't wait to put it all into action.
